The water you see has usually travelled some distance from the actual leak point \u2014 via the roof structure, insulation, and roof boarding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Damp or wet insulation<\/strong> \u2014 Does it smell musty in the loft? That's a warning sign. Damp insulation loses its insulating properties and can lead to mould growth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Loose or corroded zinc work<\/strong> Damaged or loose zinc work on roof edges, dormers, or facades is one of the most common entry points for water. Inspect this regularly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.
